DPNM 2024 Pre-Primary Convention
The Democratic Party of New Mexico 2024 State Pre-Primary Nominating Convention was held Saturday, March 9, at 10 a.m., via Zoom.
The purpose of the State Pre-Primary Convention was to accomplish the following:
- Nominate Democratic candidates whose names will appear on the NM Primary ballot in June.
- Vote on whether to adopt the new DPNM Platform presented by the State Platform Committee.
- Deliberate, debate, and vote on any DPNM Resolutions presented at the convention.
The Democratic Party of Los Alamos County held County Ward Meetings and a County Pre-Primary Convention on February 24 to select delegates to the State Pre-Primary Convention. Although President Joe Biden; U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich; and U.S. Representatives Theresa Ledger Fernandez, Melanie Stansbury, and Gabe Vasquez have no opposition for ballot placement and nominating petition filing, the delegates registered their preferences at the State Pre-Primary Convention.
The delegates from Los Alamos County were County Party Chair Andrea Determan; County Party Vice Chair Philip Gursky; At-Large State Central Committee Members Brandi Engeman, Alissa Grissom, Grant Harding, Sara Scott, and County Assessor George Chandler; and At-Large Delegates State Rep. Christine Chandler, Councilor Denise Derkacs, Ward B Chair Michael Dolejsi, Ward C Chair Amy Storey, Karyl Ann Armbruster, Ryn Herrmann, Joseph Granville, and Brad Storey, selected at the County Pre-Primary Convention.
